St. George Island Cuisine
An Experience in COOKING & HISTORY
This second cookbook was released to the public at the 41st
Annual Florida Seafood Festival in November 2004.
This excellent
cookbook features the photography of the world famous photographer Richard
Bickel.
It is a beautifully presented collection of favorite recipes of
residents
and homeowners from St. George Island and the surrounding areas of
Franklin County.
The “History of St. George Island,” in Pam Vest’s introduction
to the cookbook, makes it
easy to understand why everyone who lives or visits
the Island recognizes it as “a treasure” found.
The cookbook is sold by vendors
on the Island and in Apalachicola.
The proceeds are used to benefit the St. George Island First
Responders, a unit of the St. George Island Volunteer Fire Department.
The first cookbook, Treasured Recipes from St. George
Island, produced in an edition of 12,500 copies, is no longer
available.
